In his lawsuit filed in Galveston County District Court, a Santa Fe man alleges that his employer, Diamond Hydraulics Inc. of Hitchcock, did not want him to make a workers' compensation claim for his workplace injury. Now he is suing for over $1 million dollars to cover physical pain, disfigurement, lost wages and inability to earn income along with interest and legal fees. The lawsuit accuses his employer of violating employment law, retaliation and deceptive actions.
A construction worker was killed and several more were injured after the unexplained collapse of a large metal structure being erected on the campus of a Texas high school. The accident happened around 7:40 a.m. on April 2 while a team of workers was building new construction on the campus of Argyle High School in Denton County.
Workers in Texas and throughout the country are exposed to many hazards on the job. Noise is often not seen as a significant safety hazard for workers, but it does pose a serious threat to workers.
